How a referral becomes a report
The same four steps whether the referral comes from applicant counsel, defense, a carrier or an IME network.
Referral and scheduling
Call the direct line or email with the case details. Appointments are set at the office nearest the injured party.
Records
Send medical and dental records before the appointment so the history is reviewed ahead of the examination.
Examination
An in-person dental and orofacial examination conducted to DWC standards.
Report
Findings, causation and impairment in a written report, typically within about fourteen business days of a complete file.
Twelve offices, so the evaluation happens near the injured worker
QME panels are generated by the worker's home address. An evaluator with one office is often too far to be selected; Dr. Kapoor examines at whichever of these locations is closest.

Dr. Kapoor's reports are written for three readers at once: the attorney who ordered the evaluation, the adjuster who has to act on it, and the judge who may have to rule on it. Causation, apportionment and impairment are set out so that all three reach the same conclusion from the same page.
Evaluations are conducted in accordance with the DWC evaluation standards and the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Fifth Edition.
